Routines in all divisions must demonstrate formation changes and technique of the dance genre category entered. All decisions of the judges are FINAL.

MUSIC REQUIREMENTS

MDDTUSA allows competitors to use music of their choice, excluding profanity and suggestive lyrics. All music must be family-friendly. To avoid a 5-point penalty, Directors/Coaches MUST upload music through the online registration system no later than 7 DAYS PRIOR TO EVENT DATE.

COSTUMES & FOOTWEAR

Performance costumes must enhance the theme and/or style of the routine. Costumes must be in good taste, appropriate for a family audience and approved by the team Director. MDDTUSA prefers performers wear soft or rubber-soled shoes; half-soles and bare feet are also permitted.

PROPS & SETS

Props and sets must be rubber-tipped to prevent floor damage. Any damage to the facility or performance floor caused by props and/or sets will result in disqualification, with damages charged to the team's school.

VIDEO RECORDING POLICY

Still-shot photography and video recording are allowed. You may only record your own team or soloist.

SCORESHEETS & JUDGES' AUDIO CRITIQUES

Each stand may be no longer than 64 counts of music.

Teams alternate performances, creating a true head-to-head battle atmosphere. Judges determine the winning team based on the overall performance.

When multiple teams are entered, the competition may be conducted in a tournament-style format, with teams advancing through the bracket toward a final round.
